Online Casino Group Investigated

Officials from the Department of Justice have recently started to look into possible ties between the Party Gaming online casino gambling group and the American casino gambling industry, particularly before the passing of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act or UIGEA. Party Gaming had previously met with U.S. authorities regarding any possible liability with regard to pre-UIGEA activities related to the U.S. casino gambling industry.

Like virtually every other U.S. based casinos and bingo websites, the operations of Party Gaming was adversely affected by the signing of the UIGEA by President Bush in 2006. The company has since then withdrawn from the market and moved into other geographic markets as well as different areas of the industry. They have been quite successful after the move, with some of their more notable products being Party Poker, Party Casino, online casino bingo and sports book.

The web site’s management itself has gone through a number of major changes, among them the resignation of various personnel and even founding members from key positions in the online casino web site. Vikrant Bhargava and Anurag Dikshit for instance, who were group operations director and head of marketing respectively have since resigned from their posts and now are now only connected to the online casino web site as consultants.
